Advantages of staying in one camp

I prefer to be up and out the camp as soon as the gates open.
If you are constantly moving to a new camp, you have to pack up
every night or morning before you can leave the camp.
I find this a little hectic.
My day starts with a drive before breakfast ( The family usually has breakfast at one of the picnic spots)

Camps

The camps I prefer to stay in are around the southern part of the park.
Skukuza is my preferred base.
The north of the park, I found to dry.
To be honest, I have not spent much time in the north because I love the central to southern sectors.
Many people feel that there are more animals in these parts.
I will post more on the camps later

Where to stay

When staying in the park, you have a choice of staying in one area and travelling in and out of the same camp. You could also plan to travel from one camp to the next each day covering more of the park, but not spending a lot of time in one area.
Both have their pros and cons and I will cover these in more detail later as well as my preferences and why.
No matter which choice I made, I always started by entering in the southern entrances to the park. They are closer to the main freeway and I felt safer. You need to ask about the recommended route before you go.
