Favourite Kruger Park animal

My favorite animal by far is the leopard.

It is pound for pound the strongest of the big cats.

Leopards are loners and therefore need to be very capable hunters as any lack of success or injury would be disastrous.
They tend to live in ravines, along rivers and in hilly country which all offer the cover they need for hunting and safety.

They are not the easiest animal to spot in the park and I consider myself fortunate to have seen have seen them on numerous occasions. It does help to know that they are territorial and to look where you have seen them before.

Advantages of staying in one camp

I prefer to be up and out the camp as soon as the gates open.
If you are constantly moving to a new camp, you have to pack up
every night or morning before you can leave the camp.
I find this a little hectic.
My day starts with a drive before breakfast ( The family usually has breakfast at one of the picnic spots)

Camps

The camps I prefer to stay in are around the southern part of the park.
Skukuza is my preferred base.
The north of the park, I found to dry.
To be honest, I have not spent much time in the north because I love the central to southern sectors.
Many people feel that there are more animals in these parts.
I will post more on the camps later
